Green False Nightshade can be found growing in rock, clay and sandy soil of the Edwards Plateau and South Texas Plains. The hairy stems lay low to the ground only reaching a height of two to five inches. The leaves are approximately one to one and a half inches long with very wavy margins and small hairs. The greenish-yellow flowers are 3/8 to 5/8 inches wide and star-shaped. Green False Nightshade blooms from April to May. White-tailed deer have been known to eat the leaves and stems of this plant.
