Wright’s Threeawn has three awns stemming from its tufted seedhead that measure 5/8 to 1 1/8 inches long. It stands roughly thirteen to thirty inches in height. Its habitat consists of gravelly, sandy, or dry plains of the Edwards Plateau and South Texas Plains. Wright’s Threeawn flowers from May to October and has poor forage value for wildlife and fair to poor grazing quality for livestock.
