How do I use the site?
The Weather & Climate Conditions tool provides you access to valuable information we have collected. The site is simple to use; simply click on the county you would like to see data for, then choose the city and location (if applicable). The data will pop up in a new window.
How do I find the information I'm looking for?
When the new window appears, a summary of the last 12 days is displayed. To customize this view or other information, simply click on the navigation links near the top of the page. Here is a quick overview of what each section provides:
- Summary: An overview of data from the last 12 days.
- Monthly Data: Data for a specific month. The current month is displayed by default. To change to a different month, simply choose the month and year you want to view statistics for and press the "Go" button. If information is available it will be displayed. To view information for a specific day, simply click on the date you wish to see in depth.
- Daily Data: Data for a specific day. The current day is displayed by default. To change to a different day, simply choose the month, day and year you want to view statistics for and press the "Go" button. If information is available it will be displayed.
- Custom Range:The Custom Range feature allows you to select any range of dates that you are interested in. Simply choose on of the provided options, or type in your own dates. If data is available, it will be displayed on the screen.
- Current Weather: An overview of the current weather at the weather station you've chosen
I want to view data from a month/day previous to what is listed on the screen.
The current month is displayed by default. To change to a different month, simply choose the month and year you want to view statistics for and press the "Go" button. If information is available it will be displayed.
I clicked on a date, but nothing happened.
This could be a symptom of two scenarios:
- There is no information available for this day. If data is available for a particular day, the number will be underlined and will link you to the data for that date if clicked. If there is no underline, this means no data is available.
- If you have already viewed data for another day but didn't close that window, the data for the newly chosen date will appear in the window that housed the data for the original date. Simply find that window on your desktop and the new information should appear. To avoid this in the future, close the window with the data in it: a new one will appear when you choose a new date.
