Angel trumpets are characterized by a slender tube 4 – 6 1/2 inches long, which is crowned by a small, five-lobed, white flower. This trumpet-shaped wildflower is said to produce a sweet fragrance. The leaves are 1-2 inches long, grayish or bluish – green in color, and arrow shaped. Angel trumpet habitats are sandy, granite, to open calcareous areas. The plant is low, with spreading or creeping branches. Angel trumpets flower approximately between the months of May – September.
